MM&C Continues Scholarship Tradition for Richard Montgomery High School Students

As part of the commemoration of its 70th Anniversary in 2016, Miller, Miller & Canby established a scholarship to be awarded annually to students from Richard Montgomery High School who attend Montgomery College. It provides up to $5,000 per year for tuition and fees and is renewable for a second year. The scholarship recognizes Miller, Miller & Canby’s long history of service to the Montgomery County community as well as its presence in Rockville where it has maintained its offices for its entire history.

The scholarship is awarded to students whose record of academic performance and community involvement reflect both the ability and commitment to succeed. It provides an opportunity to academically deserving students who, because of personal circumstances, might otherwise have difficulty financing their attendance at Montgomery College.

This year the firm awarded the scholarship to another worthy student, senior Glendy Rodriguez Alvizuris, during Richard Montgomery High School’s annual awards ceremony on May 25, 2023.

“It is an honor to be chosen; this scholarship inspires me to keep up with my hard work and succeed in life,” said Rodriguez Alvizuris. She added, “This is very important to me because I will be able to be a full time student and get closer to my goal. Thank you so much for funding this scholarship and providing support to students like me with dreams.”

Miller, Miller & Canby chose to award the scholarship to students who will be attending Montgomery College because Montgomery College has been a part of the fabric of Montgomery County, providing affordable college level educational opportunities to residents. The firm has been privileged to provide legal representation to the College over the years. By providing this scholarship for students to attend Montgomery College, the firm recognizes the importance of the College’s mission, becoming a partner in this small way to support that mission.

“We are pleased to once again offer a scholarship to a deserving student in our community,” said Miller, Miller & Canby’s managing partner, Michael Campbell. “We look forward to following Glendy’s journey and wish her much success as she continues to pursue her education.”
