Seasoned Attorney Expands Firm’s Eminent Domain and Litigation Practices
Miller, Miller & Canby is pleased to announce that Benjamin (Ben) Schneider has joined the firm, expanding the firm’s Eminent Domain and Litigation Departments.
An experienced eminent domain practitioner, Schneider served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice for four years prior to joining Miller, Miller & Canby. While at the DOJ, he litigated eminent domain cases in U.S. District Courts across the country on behalf of various federal agencies. His cases ranged in size from .2 acres to 538 acres and in value from $20,000 to $100 million.
Prior to working at the DOJ, Schneider obtained broad legal experience representing plaintiffs in civil litigations, defending government employees and corporate clients in white collar investigations, and assisting clients facing subpoenas as part of congressional committee investigations.
Schneider served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Peter J. Messitte in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and obtained his juris doctor cum laude from Georgetown University. Before law school, he was a practicing city planner at the U.S. Department of the Navy overseeing planning, infrastructure, and design projects around the D.C. region.
Schneider holds a Masters of City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude.
“We are delighted to welcome Ben to Miller, Miller & Canby,” said Managing Partner Michael Campbell. “Ben’s extensive public and private sector experience is a tremendous asset to our clients. We look forward to his contributions to our eminent domain and litigation practices.“
