The Maryland Bar Foundation will celebrate 60 years of making a difference in the Maryland legal community at its upcoming anniversary gala, “A Legacy of Giving, a Future of Impact.”  Scheduled for October 23 at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, this milestone event will recognize the collective effort that has upheld the integrity of the legal profession for the past six decades in Maryland.

Miller, Miller & Canby is proud to join many local community partners in sponsoring this event, which will feature keynote speaker Erek L. Barron and will “lay the groundwork for the next six decades of vital contributions to the legal field.”

Since its inception, the Maryland Bar Foundation has played an active role in enhancing access to justice for Marylanders in need, as well as advancing the legal profession. The Foundation supports many local nonprofits, investing to uplift the state’s most under-resourced communities. Through strategic grant making, the Foundation facilitates vital work that profoundly impacts and changes lives, ensuring legal support reaches those who need it most. The Foundation also recognizes leaders in the legal community who are actively moving the profession forward.

This year’s event will recognize the recipients of the Legal Excellence Awards, as well as the annual Curran Award. The latter honors a government or public interest lawyer known for selflessly serving the public good, named in honor of former Maryland Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr.
