Donna McBride To Be Recognized as MSBA Litigation Section Litigator of the Year

Miller, Miller & Canby’s Donna McBride will be recognized as Litigator of the Year at the Maryland State Bar Association’s Litigation Section Awards Dinner on May 4th. The Litigator of the Year Award “recognizes distinguished litigators for recent standout accomplishments or career dedication and achievement in litigation.”

The mission of the MSBA Litigation Section is to elevate the level of trial and appellate practice in State and Federal courts serving Maryland and increase the professionalism of the general litigation attorney. The Section provides a platform for exchanging ideas. It also considers issues with respect to rules, procedures, and practices of litigation, and presents recommendations on those issues; develops relevant materials and seminars for continuing legal education; establishes and maintains regular contact with the State and federal judiciary to achieve resolution of problems of mutual concern; and generally promotes and furthers the interests of the litigation profession.

Every year, the Section hosts an awards dinner and honors members who have excelled in their work. For 2023, in addition to the recognition of Donna McBride for The MSBA Litigation Section Litigator of the Year honor, the Honorable Lisa Angela Hall Johnson will receive The Honorable Glenn T. Harrell, Jr. Award for Judicial Excellence.

Donna McBride is a Shareholder at Miller, Miller & Canby where she has practiced in the litigation department since 2004. Both before and after joining MM&C, she played leading roles in several multi-million dollar disputes, trying many of those cases to verdict. In early 2019, she was invited to be a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Fellowship in the “College” is by invitation only to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards. Membership cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. In addition to her successful litigation practice, she is very active in the legal community, serving in numerous leadership roles over the years and volunteering her time.
