On March 20, Miller, Miller & Canby sponsored the “SemiQ Tour” event hosted by the Washington Chapter of Lambda Alpha International (LAI).
The event was the second stop, part of a tour planned by seven East Coast chapters of LAI, an honorary global association for distinguished professionals involved in land economics and land development. The tour was organized to emphasize the role that the home of each of the seven East Coast chapters had in shaping the establishment and growth of the nation, as part of the overall semiquincentennial celebration of 2026 — America250.

Activities here in Washington, DC included a presentation on the two and one-half centuries of evolution of the District of Columbia conducted at the Offices of the National Capital Planning Commission; a panel discussion on the “Past, Present and Future,” of the District, held at the National Building Museum; and a tour of the National Capitol with introductory remarks by the Architect of the National Capitol.
Miller, Miller & Canby’s Jody Kline, who serves as president of the DC Chapter of LAI, offered introductory and closing remarks at both the morning and luncheon tour sessions. Miller, Miller & Canby is a long-time supporter of the chapter; 2026 marks the 25th year of the firm’s sponsorship.
“We were very pleased to have participated in this celebration around the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation,” said Kline, who chairs Miller, Miller & Canby’s Land Use Planning and Land Development practice group. “We look forward to more educational programming this year to mark this historic milestone.”
