Telecommunications / Land Use Approval for Cell Tower at Turf Valley Resort in Howard County

Issue:

There was well known (decade plus) of established spotty wireless coverage in the area of the Turf Valley Golf Resort & Conference Center, Community and surrounding area within and along Routes 40, 70 and Marriottsville Rd in Howard County, Maryland.

Goal:

Telecommunications Attorney, Sean Hughes, was engaged by TowerCo to obtain a Conditional Use application approval via a public hearing before the Howard County Government’s Hearing Examiner (administrative judge) to approve the 160 ft. wireless monopole tower, disguised as a tree pole at the Turf Valley Golf Resort site.

Success:

Zoning Approval was obtained in spite of opposition at the hearing for MM&C’s client, and the appeal period passed successfully. TowerCo is working on permitting and plan to build the site soon.
