Mrs. Walker concentrates her practice in the areas of wills, trusts and estates. Her practice includes such matters as tax planning (estate, gift, trust and generation skipping transfer taxes); preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives for health care, and living will declarations; and probate and estate administration, including representation of individual and corporate personal representatives in the administration of estates.
EXPERIENCE:
Mrs. Walker has practiced with Miller, Miller & Canby since 1987. Prior to that time she was associated with the law firm of Venable, Baetjer and Howard and Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver in Baltimore, Maryland.
EDUCATION:
Douglass College (Rutgers University) (A.B. History, with General Honors, 1968); Washington College of Law, American University (J.D., magna cum laude, 1978; Washington College of Law Honor Society); Brooklyn Law School (American Jurisprudence Award - torts, Dean’s List, and Law Review).
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Mrs. Walker is a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section; the Maryland State Bar Association, Tax, Trusts and Estates Section and Elder Law Section; the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Tax and Estates and Trusts Sections and the Estate Planning Council of Suburban Maryland.
Mrs. Walker has written a number of articles on estate planning topics and has spoken on estate planning topics before numerous groups. In addition, Mrs. Walker conducts seminars for community groups on estate planning.
